I AM NEW
Welcome to the Auckland Latin Mass Community
We invite you to join us for Sunday Mass or during the week (see here for Mass times). Our main Sunday celebration is our 10am Sung Mass at St. Paul’s College Chapel. Here is some information on the Traditional Mass that you may like to read before attending.
Arrival and Parking
There is plenty of parking available on the school grounds as well as in the surrounding streets nearby. To access the school’s lower court car park, turn into Mokau Street from Richmond Road and turn right to Moira Street. At the end of the street, there is the entrance, drive past the school hall and there is a ramp on your left to the lower court parking.
The Mass
Standing, sitting, kneeling?! What to do?! Please simply follow what those around you are doing; but if you feel a little overwhelmed, don’t worry. You may remain seated for the duration of the Mass.
If it is your first time at a Latin Mass, relax. Immerse yourself in the prayerful music and silent moments of the traditional liturgy. You may choose to follow the prayers of the priest and choir (using the Mass booklets, and bulletin). If attending for the first time, however, you may prefer to sit back and open your heart to God in quiet prayer, as the liturgy unfolds before you.
Singing at Mass
For Sung Mass, the singing is mostly done by the choir on behalf of the faithful. The faithful can (and should) join in the singing wherever they can. Here are the commonly used music in the Mass here in Auckland Latin Mass Chaplaincy. Email us if you would like to join the choir.

Holy Communion
Baptised Catholics in the state of grace (i.e are not aware of any unconfessed serious or “mortal” sins on their conscience) are welcome to receive Holy Communion; provided they have fasted from all food and drink for one hour before receiving (with water and medication excepted).
At the Latin Mass, Holy Communion is only given on the tongue. Holy Communion is received kneeling, but if you cannot kneel due to age or sickness, you may choose to receive standing.
There is no need to say ‘Amen’ before receiving Holy Communion, as the priest includes this in his Latin prayer as he gives you the Host.
